These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, control panel, APIs, and game server hosting services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Ryf(“Ryf,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at https://ryf.sh/ and related domains.
By creating an account, deploying a server, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. About Ryf
Ryf provides premium, low-latency game server hosting with always-on DDoS protection, one-click deployment, and dynamically scaled infrastructure. Our Services are designed for community hosts, network owners, and competitive players.
At the time these Terms were last updated, Ryf offers:
- Minecraft hosting with support for vanilla, modded, plugin, and modpack servers
- Free tier access with dynamically scaled CPU, RAM, and NVMe storage
- Upcoming paid plans (Pro, Scale, and Enterprise) with reserved performance, multi-node clusters, dedicated hardware, and service-level commitments
- Global network infrastructure, including a live edge node in Hyderabad and additional regions planned
- Always-on DDoS Shield mitigation included on all plans at no additional charge
We may add, change, or discontinue features, games, regions, or plans at any time, subject to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that all registration information you provide is accurate and current.
3. Accounts and Security
To use most features of the Services, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us promptly at contact@ryf.sh if you suspect unauthorized access
We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, are inactive for extended periods, or violate these Terms.
4. Description of Services
4.1 Hosting and deployment
Ryf provisions and manages game servers on infrastructure operated directly by Ryf and through trusted third-party cloud and bare-metal providers, including Hetzner, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services.
Features may include, depending on your plan and the game supported:
- One-click server deployment and configuration
- Automatic application of mods, plugins, and modpacks where supported
- Dynamic resource scaling based on load
- File management, backups, console access, and related control panel tools
- Network routing, anycast addressing, and DDoS mitigation
4.2 Free tier
The Free tier is not a time-limited trial. It provides access to a fully protected game server with dynamically scaled resources. We may apply fair-use limits to protect network stability and ensure equitable access for all users. Free tier Services are provided without a service-level agreement (SLA) and may be modified or discontinued with reasonable notice where practicable.
4.3 Paid plans
When paid plans become available, additional terms—including pricing, billing cycles, refunds, and SLAs—will be presented at checkout or in a separate order form and incorporated into these Terms by reference. Until then, no payment is required for Free tier access unless we explicitly notify you otherwise.
4.4 No guarantee of specific performance
Marketing materials, FAQs, and benchmarks on our website (including references to deploy times, latency, uptime, or player counts) describe goals or typical performance under normal conditions. Actual performance depends on factors outside our control, including your location, player count, game software, mods, and third-party network conditions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or latency-free operation except where expressly stated in a paid SLA.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Services lawfully and responsibly. You must not:
- Host, transmit, or facilitate illegal content or activity
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties
- Send spam, phishing content, or unsolicited bulk messages
- Launch or facilitate denial-of-service attacks against any target, including using Ryf infrastructure as part of an attack
- Attempt to bypass security controls, probe or scan systems without authorization, or access data not belonging to you
- Mine cryptocurrency or run non-game workloads unrelated to supported game hosting without our written permission
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Services without a separate agreement with Ryf
- Upload malware, exploit kits, or software intended to harm systems or users
- Use the Services in a manner that degrades network stability or harms other customers (“noisy neighbor” abuse), including excessive resource consumption beyond reasonable game hosting use
- Impersonate Ryf, our staff, or other users
- Violate the terms of any third-party game, platform, or mod license (including Mojang/Microsoft terms for Minecraft)
We may investigate suspected violations, remove or disable content, throttle resources, suspend servers, or terminate accounts without prior notice when necessary to protect the network, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
6. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of content, world data, configurations, and other materials you upload or generate through your servers (“Customer Content”).
You grant Ryf a limited license to host, store, back up, transmit, and process Customer Content solely to provide and improve the Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You are solely responsible for:
- The legality and appropriateness of Customer Content
- Maintaining your own backups where required
- Ensuring you have rights to any mods, plugins, assets, or software you install
We are not obligated to monitor Customer Content but may do so to enforce these Terms or respond to legal requests.
7. Third-Party Games and Software
Ryf is an independent hosting provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang, Microsoft, Valve, Facepunch Studios, Studio Wildcard, Pocketpair, Iron Gate AB, Garry Newman, Rockstar Games, Cfx.re, or any other game publisher unless explicitly stated.
Your use of third-party games, mods, and software is subject to those parties' own license terms. You are responsible for compliance with applicable EULAs and community guidelines.
8. DDoS Protection
All Ryf servers include always-on DDoS mitigation as described on our website. While we operate multi-Tbps edge scrubbing and behavioral filtering, no protection system can stop every attack under all circumstances. During large or novel attacks, we may apply additional filtering, rate limits, or temporary routing changes that affect connectivity.
DDoS protection is provided for defensive purposes only. Using Ryf to attack third parties is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination.
9. Support
We provide community and human support via contact@ryf.sh. Support availability and response times may vary by plan. Support does not include custom development, mod debugging beyond reasonable platform issues, or recovery of data you failed to back up.
10. Fees, Billing, and Refunds
The Free tier requires no payment. When paid plans launch:
- Fees will be disclosed before purchase
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled according to the billing terms presented at checkout
- You authorize us and our payment processors to charge applicable fees and taxes
- Refund policies will be stated at the time of purchase
Failure to pay applicable fees may result in suspension or termination of paid Services.
11. Service Changes and Maintenance
We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance, upgrade hardware, migrate servers between nodes or providers, or modify infrastructure with or without notice. We will use reasonable efforts to minimize disruption but are not liable for downtime caused by maintenance, upstream provider outages, DDoS events, force majeure, or factors outside our reasonable control.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
12. Suspension and Termination
By you: You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion by contacting contact@ryf.sh.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or if continued provision of Services is impractical. We may also terminate Free tier accounts that are inactive for an extended period, after reasonable notice where practicable.
Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends. We may delete Customer Content after a reasonable retention period, except where retention is required by law.
13. Intellectual Property
The Ryf name, logo, website, control panel, documentation, and underlying software are owned by Ryf or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or brand assets except as needed to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
Feedback you provide may be used by Ryf without restriction or compensation.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RYF DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements, that game software or mods will function as expected, or that data will never be lost.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- RYF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS.
- RYF'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO RYF IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ryf and its operators, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Services
- Customer Content
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including game publisher terms
17. Dispute Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at contact@ryf.sh and allow at least thirty (30) days for us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
Except where prohibited by law, any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction — e.g., Denmark or your registered entity's jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in [Venue — e.g., Copenhagen, Denmark] will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on https://ryf.sh/termsand update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
19. General
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any plan-specific terms or policies referenced here, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ryf regarding the Services.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
